Tim Singleton had the following questions:
Mr Boyer
How many times do you reload the same brass in a competition? Do you change to a fresh set of brass when you go to the 200 yd line? Also how (many) different powder charges do you try at each relay?
Thanks
Tim
Dear Tim
I typically find that my brass will last the life of a barrel. That is normally anywhere between 300 and 1000 rounds. If the brass starts to ‘click’ I will replace it. Clicking is when the bolt hesitates at the top of the stroke when unloading a spent round.
When I go to the line I will most often have between 1 and 3 different loads. Once I have chosen a load I will stay with it until I feel conditions force me to change. I often shoot the entire day with 1 load but it would also not be unusual for me to shoot 3 different loads during the 10 matches of the day.
regards,
Tony
